If f ( x ) = 4 - 2x, what is f ( x - 4 )?

Option:

a. -2x

b. -2x - 4

c. -2x + 8

d. -2x + 12

Solutions:

f ( x ) = 4 - 2x

f ( x - 4 ) =   4 - 2 ( x - 4 )

f ( x - 4 )  =  4 - 2x + 8

f ( x - 4 )  =  -2x + 12

Hence, option D is correct.
