TOP 8 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER AN SAT PREP CLASS

TOP 8 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER AN SAT PREP CLASS
Did you ever learn a sport? Did you take up an art class or a baking class? Did you sign up for a driving lessons class? If your answer to any one of these questions is a yes, you know how important it is to learn from someone who already knows what you want to learn.

If you look at the questions we just discussed, is it really impossible to learn a sport, paint or bake a cake by yourself?! No, you can do them all. It might take you a few rounds of experimentations and failure. It might even cost you time and money. But, you can do it. However, if you can do all these faster and with less effort, that’s an intelligent way to do these things. Right?!

The same thing holds true for SAT prep. You can self-study your way to the SAT or take a prep class. If you choose to self-study, you are on your won. If you choose to take up an SAT prep class, you have a solid support system. I think it’s an obvious choice. Well, if you are still not convinced that you should take a SAT prep class, then consider the following:-

Teacher/Coach/Guide

The best in any field out there have a teacher or a coach or a guide. Take any field, there is always a mentor behind the success of an inspiring individual. The benefit of having a teacher is that he/she has gone the path you want to tread on. Even if they are not super successful, they know how it works. When you learn from them you can avoid making all the mistakes they made. In a SAT prep class, you have the guidance of a teacher who has seen multiple seasons of SAT exams and students. The teacher’s ability to translate all this knowledge can be the single most important reason to sign up for SAT prep classes.

Knowledge Gaps

As a self-study SAT aspirant, your pool of knowledge is limited to what you learn as an individual. If you sign up for SAT prep class, you have access to the collective knowledge pool of your peers and teachers. This helps you fill your knowledge gaps faster.

Support System

When you sign up for a SAT prep class, you sign up for all the ensuing support! It could be diagnostic tests, practice questions, quality test prep resources, a peer group, quizzes and so on. Depending on the institute you choose, the support system has a range of facilities that are not available in the case of self-study.

The Will to Keep Going

Oftentimes, when you are preparing for the SAT all by yourselves, there can be tendencies of slacking off on your prep. There is no one watching. There is also nothing that points to where you are going. In the case of a test prep class, the intermittent tests and quizzes keep you alive and alert on your SAT prep. More importantly, test prep classes retain your will to keep going.

Score Improvement

It is nearly impossible to improve an SAT score all by yourself. It has nothing to do with you as a person. It is more to do with the way we learn as people. It is not easy to come up with an alternative way to do things. An SAT prep class provides the environment to do all that needs to be done for an improved score.

Test Strategy

A good quality SAT prep class will help you strategize for your SAT. The various tests, quizzes and knowledge checks help you understand your strengths to lean on. Further you can take the help of your teachers to design the strategy that will lead you to your dream score.

Confidence Boost

Did you ever experience brain freeze in an exam? It is one of the worst things to go through after all the hard work and prep. One main reason for the brain freeze is lack of regular practice. It is important to get familiar with the SAT exam format and environment. Self-study will not help you in this case. A simulated test environment offered in an SAT prep class will give you confidence a boost and help you arrest any possibility of a brain freeze.

Study Groups

This is a no-brainer. The only other person who will be with you in self-study is you! SAT prep class gives you access to study groups. There is really no way to replace the power of study groups in your SAT prep. Unless, of course, you clone yourself, which is probably far more expensive and time consuming than signing up for an SAT prep.

Whoever said, ‘if you want to go fast, go alone and if you want to go far, go along’ was right. If you want to score far on the SAT, then sign up for a SAT prep class. You have nothing to lose. All you will do is gain!
